Biography:

Roger Munsey was brought in for the head coaching job at Archbishop Ryan High School for the indoor and outdoor track programs for boys and girls at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.  As a member of the graduating class of 2004, Roger was very excited to return to his alma mater and give back to the school and the program that shaped his future.

During the 4 years heading up the program, he has helped the team to a PIAA District Championship, 10 new school records, 36 state qualifiers, 12 national qualifiers, and countless Philadelphia Catholic League 3rd person Championship standard qualifiers.

Roger’s unwavering passion for the sport, his proven leadership, reputation, and authentic care for his athletes earned him Philadelphia Catholic League Coach of the year honors in 2021 as well as the Spirit of Ryan award, which honors his dedication to the school and community.  He is also received his level 1 USATF Coaching Certification.

Roger found his love of coaching immediately after taking over the program.  Coaching has reignited his love for the sport and he is excited to help guide the next generation of athletes.  While starting on this new path, Roger has found his true passion, helping others achieve their goals.  The bonds created between a coach and their athletes is one unlike any other and he strives to reinforce the critical importance of coaching and leading each athlete one person at a time to bring out the best in each of them.
