DVGTCA Meet #7 Recap

Alright everybody, welcome back to our Weekend Recap for our Ryan Girls’ Track and Field team! This Friday, the girls took on the Delaware Valley Girls’ Track Coaches’ Association at Lehigh University. The evening was filled with PRs, Qualifiers, and a whole lot of medals, so let’s dive right in!
Kicking off the meet we had our 4x800m relay take to the track. The team of Spring Garner ’24, Cara Marquess ’22, Kaylee Michalczyk ’24, and Carly Marquess ’22 put together a very strong showing, running a team time of 12:58.20. Our Girls took 6th place overall and took home a medal for their troubles! Here is the split breakdown of the race:
Spring: 2:55 (career debut)
Cara: 3:18 (season best)
Kaylee: 3:12 (season best)
Carly: 3:25 (season best)
Following the relay, the meet’s sprint program began and for us we had Adriana Deieso ’23 in the 60m Dash. Adriana ran a very quick 9.20 which was good for 9th overall! In the 200m, we had a debut in Olivia Smirawoska ’23, and a debut it was. Olivia won the 200m with a time of 27.46 which qualifies for Meet of Champs!
Wrapping up the meet’s sprint program we had the 400m Dash. In a very quick heat, we had Chelsea Ritter ’23 who was looking to build on her performance in this event from last weekend. Build she did, Chelsea took 4th place overall in the meet with a new Indoor PR and a PA Top 50 time of 62. 56, which is also qualifies her for Meet of Champs!
Transitioning to the Mid-Distance and Distance programs of the meet, we had Anna Lombardi ’23 in the 800m. In another quick heat, Anna battled and put down a new Career PR with a 2:33, which took 5th overall at the meet! Anna’s time also ranks as the number 1 800m time in the Philadelphia Catholic League. Following her performance, we had Rebecca Dalton ’22 in the 3000m. Rebecca enduring 15 laps, ran a Career PR time of 12:03 which took 4th overall!
Moving over to the Relay portion of the meet we had the 4x400m on the track. Our 4x400m of Cailey McCloskey ’22, Paige Geiger ’22, Jill Rozdzielski ’25, and Molly Botthof ’25, had a very gutsy performance. Their team time of 4:40.81 was good enough for 6th place overall! Here is the split breakdown:
Cailey: 70 (Season Best)
Paige: 71 (Career Debut)
Jill: 67 (Career PR)
Molly: 68 (Career PR)
Next up we had our 4x200m relay! The team of Henrietta David ’24, Darlene Aseyome ’25, Hedwig Dorismond ’25, and Adriana Deieso ’23 ran a brave time of 2:09.71! That team time was good enough for 5th place overall in the meet! Here is the split breakdown:
Henrietta: 31.5
Darlene: 33.01 (Career Debut)
Hedwig: 34.07 (Career PR)
Adriana: 30.7
Last but not least, we take a look at the Field results from this weekend. Debuting in Triple Jump and coming off of a 200m victory, Olivia Smirawoska ’23 took 4th place overall with a jump of 30-1.50! In the Pole Vault, both Paige Geiger ’22 and Henrietta David ’24 cleared 7-0 which took 2nd place and 5th place respectively.
It was a great day for our Girls’ team!
