DVGTCA Meet #5 Recap

Attempting to overcome an Indoor Season that has been less than ideal and inconsistent, our Girl's Team took on the Delaware Valley in the team's third meet at Alvernia University. We had multiple career personal records, season's bests, and improvements! In the rest of this article we will take a deep dive on splits, medals, qualifying standards and more.
We begin on the track with our team's first event of the evening, the 60m Hurdles. Senior Paige Geiger '22 looked to continue her stellar last couple of weeks on the track and she did not disappoint. Paige hit a new personal record of 11.47 which was also good for the 3rd Person Standard for PCL Champs! We also had Junior Olivia Smiarowska '23 debuted in the hurdles with a 10.71 (Career PR) which was good for 15th overall at the meet and also hit the 3rd Person Standard for PCL Champs!
Next up on the track we had the sprint events take the track. First up, we had Adriana Deieso '23 make her debut in the 60m Dash. Adriana set her career best with a 9.10! Following the 60m Dash, we had another debutant in the 200m, rookie Lexi Shepard '22 set her new career best with a 37.98! After the 200m we had our last open sprint event of the evening with the 400m. Junior Chelsea Ritter '23 looked keen to improve upon her previous 400m time this year and improve she did. Chelsea ran a season's best 64.13 which was good for 10th place overall at the meet!
Transitioning to the distance events, next on the track was the 1000m where we had Anna Lombardi '23 make her event debut. Anna made a strong debut in the 1000m setting a career best, placing 3rd overall in the meet, and setting a PA number 28, with a time of 3:32! Following that performance we had another rookie make her debut this season, Spring Garner '24 ran a career best 14:20 in the 3000m!
Wrapping up the running events, we move to the relay portion of the meet. In the 4x400m, Frankie Brunkel '25, Molly Botthof '25, Isabella Velez '24, and Kaylee Michalczyk '24 ran a competitive team time of 5:19. Here are the splits:
Frankie: 71 (Career PR), Molly: 70 (Career PR), Isabella: 86 (Career PR), Kaylee: 88
Our last relay on the track was our 4x200m relay of Ynobe Robinson '22, Jill Rozdzielski '25, Henrietta David '24, and Olivia Smiarowska '23 ran a very quick team time of 2:01.22! Here is the split breakdown:
Ynobe: 31, Jill: 30, Henrietta: 31, Olivia: 27
Last but certainly not least, switching to the field events we had a debut and a new PR! Starting with the Long Jump, we had Shania Williams '23 jump a new career best of 13 feet 1.75 inches! Following her lead our debutant in Triple Jump, Natalie McFadden '23 set a new career long with a jump of 28 feet 10 inches! Lastly, we had Paige Geiger '22 clear 4 feet 3 inches in High Jump!
