Our Ryan Ragdolls had strong performances, new personal records, and a couple PCL Championship 3rd Person Standard Qualifying times at the Alvernia-Flynn Plex on Friday evening! We will be going over every event in detail and breaking down some splits for you! We do hope to make these weekly updates after meet weekends.
We had our Distance Medley Relay kick things off, and our girls did not disappoint. The DMR consists of a 1200m run to a 400m run, to an 800m run, to finally a mile run. The relay team of Anna Lombardi ’23, Alana Verello ’23, rookie Natalie McFadden ’23, and Rebecca Dalton ’22 captured 18th overall out of 33 teams! Here is the split breakdown, all splits are by our coaches’ hand time and remember DMR splits are weird.
Anna (1200m): 4:15 (Personal Record), Alana (400m): 1:09, Natalie (800m): 2:48, Rebecca (1600m): 5:48 (Personal Record)
Following the DMR, we had our Ragdoll sprinters take to the track. Leading off the sprinting events, we had the 60m Hurdles. Sabrina Krumenacker ’22 and rookie Frankie Brunkel ’25 both put down quick times in the hurdles. Sabrina improved her time from last week with an 11.13 which was good for 16th overall and Frankie, in her first High School race, qualified for PCL Champs with a time of 11.60! Immediately after the hurdles, we had Olivia Smiarowska ’23 in the 60m Dash. Olivia ended up improving her time from last week and ran a PCL Championship Qualifying time of 8.70! After the 60m, Frankie, who came back on short rest, ran her 200m in 30.22!
Transitioning to our Mid-Distance and Distance team, we had some improving times! In the 400m, Carly Walsh ’23 dropped time from last week and ran a 1:10.36 which is also a new Personal Record! In the 800m, Cailey McCloskey ’22, who recently announced she will be continuing her academic career at the University of Pennsylvania, dropped time from last week and ran a 2:54. Following the 800m, we had veteran Carly Marquess ’22 in the mile. Carly persevered and ran a 7:32.34.
After wrapping up the distance and mid-distance events, our Ragdoll relays attacked the track. Our 4x4oom Relay, which consisted mainly of distance runners and rookies, got some good speed work in along with everyone setting a Personal Record! The relay, which was made up with Jillian Rozdzielski ’25, Kaylee Michalczyk ’24, Isabella Velez ’24, and Cara Marquess ’22, ran a team time of 5:35.09. Here are the splits!
Jillian: 1:11 (Personal Record), Kaylee: 1:24 (Personal Record), Isabella: 1:30 (Personal Record), Cara: 1:27 (Personal Record)
Wrapping up the relay portion of the meet was our 4x200m! The relay, made up of Olivia Smiarowska ’23, Morgan McFadden ’23, Anna Lombardi ’23, and Adriana Deieso ’23, dropped team time from last week with a 1:59.27 which was good for 17th overall out of 55 teams! The Splits:
