Our Boys’ Team looked poised to improve on some times and put in some hard work this past Saturday at Lehigh University. We shall go through every race and event in some detail, and breakdown some more splits!

To kick off the meet, the Freshman and Sophomore 4x4oom relay hit the track. Our all-freshman relay consisting of Corey Demas ’25, Nicholas Davido ’25, Sean Mooney ’25, and Angelo Romani ’25, ran a serviceable 4:48 team time! For those four boys it was their first high school track race!

Following the F/S 4x400m relay, our sprinters would look to improve on some times and achieve a few firsts. In his first time running the 60m Dash, Azaan Flowers ’22 ran a quick 7.77 which enabled him to come back in the 60m Finals later in the meet. Azaan came back and ran 7.77 again, consistency is key! After the 60 Dash, our very own PA #1 Brad Cantoral ’22 took the track to improve on his 60m Hurdles time. In the 60m Hurdles Prelims, Brad put down an 8.62 which is slightly faster than he ran last week. Of course, that time was good enough for Brad to come back in the hurdle finals. Brad came back in the hurdle finals and confidently put down an 8.57 to win the 60m Hurdles. He currently still holds the PA #1 time in the 60m Hurdles, and he technically ran the second fastest time in PA this weekend! Next on the track we had the 200m Dash, where rookie Bishop Norman ’25 made his track debut with a quick 28.51! Pretty good for someone who didn’t wear spikes!

Moving to our Mid-Distance and Distance events, some redemption and career firsts were on the line. Leading off those events was Ben Johnson ’22 in the 400m. Ben fought through a tough field and achieved a Personal Record of 57.76! In the 800m, we had Deven Salvatore ‘23 looking for a bounce back from last weekend. The junior persevered through a hard race and finished with a 2:24.51. In the mile, we had Andrei Frigura ’22 making his indoor track debut. Andrei ran a good first indoor race and ran a 4:56.41, which was good enough for 17th overall out of 50 athletes!

It was a lighter slate for our Boys’ Team this week so wrapping up our running events this weekend was our 4x200m Relay. Our relay team, complied of mainly rookies aside from lone veteran Joe Boberskyj ‘24, looked to showcase their talents. Richie Paczewski ’23, Azaan Flowers ’22, Joe Boberskyj ’24, and Ergi Mujo ’22, put down a team time of 1:53.31. Here is the split breakdown!

Richie: 25.17 (Personal Record), Azaan: 25.63, Joe: 32.16, Ergi: 30.37 (Personal Record)

Wrapping up our recap from this weekend we do have the field events reporting for duty. In the High Jump Richie Paczewski ’23, looked to rebound from last weekend. Richie cleared a bar for the first time, and then cleared another height at 5”02! That was good enough for Richie to bring home a 5th Place medal! In the Shot Put, we had Jake Kelly '24 throw 34"10'25! Finally, in the Long Jump we had Jack Dunne ’24 also looking for some improvement in his event. Jack ended the day with a 13”11 jump!

Once again thank you for your patience as we get these recaps out to you, ideally both happen on the same day, but technical problems grounded us this weekend! Have a Happy Holidays everyone! We will be back after the New Year!
